Why bottom fishing
A pole in your hand the whole time.
“Light tackle bottom fishing is something I always really enjoyed. Even when I go fishing today with my kids, this is what I do. You have a pole in your hand and you’re actively fishing, which I think is way more fun.”Keao, owner and captain
Find the action in crystal-clear water 75 to 200 feet deep. It’s a great trip for experienced anglers and for anyone hoping to land their first fish. Some of what we catch is so good it never makes it to the market, and your catch is yours to take with you and eat fresh.

Fishing on MAKAI
Room for everyone to fish at once.
MAKAI is 41 feet long, so everyone can fish at the same time. The perimeter seats fold down for fishing, there’s lots of shade, and there’s a restroom onboard. All of our fishing equipment is new as of May 2026.
As we say in Hawai‘i: hana pa‘a!
