Makai Adventures (“we”, “us”) runs small-group boat tours from Mala Boat Ramp in Lahaina, Maui. This policy covers this website and the bookings and messages that come to us through it.
What we collect
When you book
Bookings are made through FareHarbor, our online booking system. When you book, you give FareHarbor details such as your name, email address, phone number, the trip, the date and the number of guests, and we receive those booking details so we can run your trip. Card payments go through FareHarbor’s checkout; your card number is not collected or stored by this website. FareHarbor’s own privacy policy explains how it handles your information.
When you contact us
If you call, text or email us, we keep what you send us so we can answer you and help with your trip.
When you visit this website
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are, what device and browser they use, and how they found us. We also use Google Ads tags to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who have visited the site. These tools use cookies and similar technology, and the information is processed by Google. Bookings are made through FareHarbor, which opens in a window on this site and handles your booking and payment details.
Videos on our blog play from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. The check-in map works the same way: it loads from Google Maps only when you tap it.
How we use it
- To run your trip, check you in and contact you about it, including weather or schedule changes.
- To answer your questions and help you plan.
- To see how the website is used and improve it, and to measure our advertising.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run our business, such as FareHarbor for bookings and Google for website analytics and advertising, or when the law requires it.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
- You can manage the ads Google shows you in Google’s ad settings.
- You can ask us what information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us below.
Children
This website isn’t meant for children under 13, and bookings should be made by an adult.
Keeping your information
We keep booking and contact records only as long as we need them to run our business and meet our legal and tax obligations.
